Marriage Service

In St Andrew’s we offer a Marriage service that is personal, joyous, meaningful and spiritual just as you want it to be. We will work with you using the flexibility of the Common Worship liturgy and your own ideas and creativity. You are welcome to marry in St Andrew’s church whatever your beliefs, whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church. If you are divorced this should not be a barrier to you marrying again; the Vicar will talk this through with you. The legal requirements for marriage are on the Church of England website but they will be fully explained during one of the meetings that would need to take place during the planning. We also offer Marriage Preparation and will pray for you.

Wedding Blessing
We also offer a Wedding Blessing. This is a service of prayer and dedication and is suitable for people who have had a civil wedding either home or abroad and would like to dedicate their marriage to God in church soon afterwards. Because it is not a marriage service, banns are not required, there is no exchange of rings and there is no signing of the Register.

Wedding Thanksgiving
St Andrew’s Church also offers a Service of Thanksgiving for Marriage, which may be used for a number of different occasions including renewing marriage vows or to celebrate a special anniversary.

There are statutory fees that will be required for weddings.
